There are so many factors that need to be considered, especially if you work in an office with multiple doctors each with their own specialty. Often times there are simply too much on a medical receptionist’s plate and it can result in any number of scheduling errors. While some mistakes may be small like forgetting to cancel an appointment after a patient calls in there are times when the mistake may be significantly larger. It is possible to schedule two patients at once with the same physician, not only will this lead to upset patients it could lead to a malpractice suit down the road. Obviously no one can sue for having to wait because of a medical appointment scheduling error, but if the doctor rushes through an exam to get through both patients and misses a significant problem as a result a lawsuit may occur.
